The North East Centre for Community Impact and Engagement (NE‑CCIE) is a flagship initiative of the Indian Institute of Management Shillong, dedicated to grassroots development, civic engagement, and sustainable transformation in the North East region. Formerly known as the Centre for Development of North East Region (CeDNER), the Centre builds on over a decade of experience in enabling inclusive, participatory, and locally grounded development efforts.?
NE‑CCIE prioritizes hands-on, action-driven programming while drawing on research and field-based insights to ensure contextual relevance and continuous learning. It serves as a platform where academic understanding is translated into practical solutions, designed in close collaboration with communities and stakeholders.
Guided by the values of sustainability, collaboration, and social equity, NE‑CCIE works with students, schools, colleges, youth groups, entrepreneurs, civil society organizations, and government institutions to address pressing developmental challenges—from educational access and leadership development to sustainable waste management and livelihood generation.
Through diverse initiatives—ranging from leadership programmes for school administrators to student-focused capacity building based on entrepreneurship and community-based environmental engagement—NE‑CCIE strives to deliver interventions that are inclusive, locally responsive, and outcomes-driven.
