Sharad Nath Bhattacharya is a post-graduate in finance and holds a Ph.D.  from the University of Calcutta. An order of merit winner at the University of Calcutta for his rank at post-graduation level, he offers courses on Security Analysis and Portfolio Management, International Finance and Cost Management. Prof Bhattacharya’s research interests are in Empirical Finance, Financial Markets, Corporate Finance and Liquidity in Financial Markets. Active in serving the professional community, he has been visiting faculty at IIM Indore, IIM Raipur, IMT Ghaziabad and University of Calcutta. He is a life member of the Indian Finance Association. He has been a creative researcher, has published a large number of research papers in several reputed international and national journals including ABDC ranked journals. His papers are well received at national and international conferences. He is a sought after trainer in the Executive Development space spanned across the public sector units, defense entities as well as corporate entities.

Sharad Nath Bhattacharya joined IIM Shillong in 2013 and is currently serving as an associate professor in the area of finance. He has about twenty years of teaching and research experience. In the past, he was engaged in various capacities with the National Institute of Management Calcutta, University of Calcutta, Institute of Technology and Science, IMT Ghaziabad, Indian Institute of Management Indore, Indian Institute of Management Raipur, and Army Institute of Management, Kolkata.
