Admission Process (pgp)

IIM SHILLONG PGP 2024-26 ADMISSION

Eligibility for admission to Two-Year Full Time Residential Post Graduate Program in Management leading to the degree of Master of Business Administration:

  • Bachelor’s Degree+, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA++ (45% in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) categories), awarded by any University or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State legislature in India or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

DOMESTIC CANDIDATES

One must have a valid CAT 2023 score, conforming to the shortlisting criteria of IIM Shillong. The details of the process and admission policy for shortlisting candidates for next stage of the process, their evaluation in that stage, and for the preparation of the final merit list post that stage for admission to the Program, are provided in the PGP (2024-26) Admission Process document

The process for Admission to PGP (2024-26) for domestic candidates is currently under process, and no new applications can be considered at this stage. Those domestic candidates who wish to apply for the Program may appear for CAT 2023, the registration for which would start sometime in August 2023. For details related to CAT, kindly visit www.iimcat.ac.in

The important dates are:

  • Shortlisting of Candidates for Personal Interaction: Mid-January, 2024
  • Start of Personal Interaction Process across the centers: Early February, 2024
  • End of Personal Interaction Process across the centers: Late April, 2024
  • Declaration of final offer and wait list: by Early May, 2024
  • Registration at IIM Shillong Campus: Mid to late June, 2024

OVERSEAS CANDIDATES

Overseas candidates, that is those for whom it is/was not possible to appear CAT 2022 due to their place of residence being outside India, have the option to apply for admission to PGP (2024-26) based on GMAT scores. Kindly note that GMAT taken before December 15, 2018 will not be valid.

In addition to the eligibility condition related to graduation stated at the top of this page, the following will apply:

  • GMAT score of not less than 640
  • In case of Indian resident abroad, one should be an Indian passport holder who had lived, worked, or studied outside India for at least 12 months continuously as on December 31, 2023

The next stage of the admission process, i.e., the Personal Interaction, will be held online on 16th of April 2024.

The important dates are:

  • Availability of Online Application Form: 24 February, 2024
  • Last date for filling in the application online: extended till 14th April, 2024
  • Shortlisting of Candidates: 16th April 2024
  • Personal Interaction Process (online): 18th April, 2024
  • Declaration of final offer and wait list: by Early May, 2024
  • Registration at IIM Shillong Campus: Mid to late June, 2024

+Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. However, it may be noted that such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the program provisionally, only if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their University/Institution, stating that they have completed all the requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate. They would need to produce the final result of their Graduation by 31st December, 2024 with minimum percentage as stated above.

++The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice as followed by the respective University/Institution. In case of grades/CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/Institution. If any University/Institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100.
