PGPWE FAQ's

What degree would we get after completion?

Ans. After successfully completing the course, the participants would get MBA degree. The certificate will mention the nature of the program as done with all other programs of the Institute.

How is the PGPWE 2025 program different from the PGP or PGPEx programs?

Ans. PGPWE is a 2-year MBA program where regular live classes are held over electronic mode, and the participants experience in-campus immersion for selected days. It is designed for professionals who wish to revisit an academic environment without taking a career break. PGPWE participants continue to work while they study, and thus the application of classroom learning is instantaneous. PGP and PGPEx are full-time residential programs.

What is the fee of the PGPWE 2025 program?

Ans. The program fee is INR 12,45,000, plus and alumni association fee of INR 10,000. The program fee is payable in 6 instalments plus the acceptance fee.

Are bank loans available?

Ans. The students from the previous two batches have received bank loans. Once you have the admission letter in your hand, you will also get potential banks’ contact details that generally provide loans to IIM Shillong students.

Does the fee includes campus immersion fees?

Ans. Yes.

What is the acceptance fee?

Ans. The acceptance fee is payable by the participants who are given the final offer to join the program. The Acceptance fee is to be paid in due time to confirm acceptance of the offer. This year the Acceptance fee is Rs. 90000. The Acceptance fee is adjusted with the first term fee.

Is CAT / GMAT / any other entrance test mandatory?

Ans. The Written Eligibility Test for admission is mandatory. Institute will conduct an entrance test for admission eligibility. However, those with a minimum of 50 percentile in CAT or a score of at least 500 in GMAT are eligible to be exempted from the above test.

Scores of CAT 2021, CAT 2022, and CAT 2023 and GMAT scores of last five years will be considered for exemption from the Written Eligibility Test.

Do I need to buy any books for study purposes?

Ans. The participants will have remote access to library for online resources, and physical access for text and reference books. The participants will need to make necessary arrangements to have access to suggested readings; while some of these will be made available online,  the participants would need to arrange for the text books at their end.

Is there any international component in the program?

Ans.The Institute provides an optional international immersion program on a self-funded basis. It is not a compulsory part of the program. However, the courses covered at the foreign university/institute are mentioned in the transcript.

What is the minimum work experience required to apply?

Ans. A minimum of three years of full-time work experience after a bachelor’s degree is required.

What are the total electives available and how many can we choose?

Ans. The number of electives vary each year. The electives chosen will depend on the professional interests of the student. Please visit the program structure section of the program page on the website for further details.

What is the placement scenario of the program?

Ans. Placement is a student driven activity at IIM Shillong. As the PGP WE program is designed for working executives who are expected to be on the job and attend the program without a career break, no placement assistance is provided by the Institute.
